New Renaissance Academy accepts both local students and those from abroad. The Canadian Government requires any student under the age of 18 to have a custodian (guardian) who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. For local students, that is usually, the parent. Students arriving from abroad will need to have a guardian appointed while the student is studying in Canada. The role of the guardian is to act in place of the parent when the parent is not, in Canada, and therefore unable to be available when needed. Many students have a relative or friend who acts as the student’s guardian, while the student is studying at New Renaissance Academy. In place of a friend or relative, New Renaissance Academy is prepared to act as the guardian as long as the student is attending New Renaissance Academy. As part of our service, New Renaissance Academy staff will keep you informed and seek your advice concerning decisions that need to be made while your son/daughter is attending our school.
