Application Details

The application must include:

  • A fully completed Student On-Site Application Form (All fields must be completed).
  • The Application Form signed by the student’s parents.
  • The last three year’s transcripts from the schools the student has attended
  • The student’s birth certificate or passport photo.
  • The application fee of $500 CAD.

Please note: Transcripts in a language other than English must have a notarized copy of their transcripts translated into English.

Custodianship

The Canadian Government requires any student under the age of 18 to have a guardian (custodian) who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. The role of the guardian is to act in place of the parent when the parent is not, in Canada, and therefore unable to be available when needed.

Many students have a relative or friend who acts as the student’s guardian, while the student is studying at New Renaissance Academy. In place of a friend or relative, New Renaissance Academy is prepared to act as the guardian as long as the student is attending New Renaissance Academy. As part of our service, New Renaissance Academy staff will keep you informed and seek your advice concerning decisions that need to be made while your son/daughter is attending our school.

A copy of the custodianship form is found under the forms section, for your convenience. The form needs to be completed by New Renaissance Academy and notarized. The custodianship form with the school’s part completed will be sent to you along with the official letter of acceptance.

Accommodation

Many international students have a friend or relative living in Toronto and those friends or relatives provide accommodation for the students.

Where students do not have anyone providing accommodation, New Renaissance Academy has an arrangement with a major homestay organization to provide homestay for our students. Students in our homestay program swill live with a Canadian family and actually become part of the family. Each student is guaranteed their own bedroom, use of a television and telephone and three meals per day, seven days per week. Students may continue to stay in the home during holiday periods as well.

Medical Insurance

Every student studying at New Renaissance Academy requires medical coverage. Residents of Canada are covered by their provincial government health insurance. New Renaissance Academy requires students, whose parents are not residents of Canada, to take out the medical insurance that is offered by the school to protect students should they need medical attention. We will be happy to provide you with a copy of the health insurance policy upon request.
